Tea Party Baby Shower Ideas
The Tea Party Baby Shower theme is an elegant choice. What could be more fun than sipping tea and celebrating new life? This is definitely an all girl party. If the Mother-to-be
loves roses and china tea cups, then this is the perfect shower choice.
Tea Party Baby Shower Invitations
Your invitations for this theme will be really easy. You have so many choices. Just about any feminine card would work. Floral cards, tea cup cards, tea pot cards,
teddy bear tea party cards, ect.
You could also make your
invitations. Use scrapbook paper and supplies and get crafty.
Cut the shape of a tea cup from scrapbook paper. Use cardstock to make your card and glue the tea cup on the front. Embellish in any way you desire.
Tea Party Baby Shower Centerpieces and Decorations
Decorations for this party are really easy to find. Look at garage sales, flea markets, and thrift stores to find enough tea cups for all your guests. You'll want to have plenty of
tea pots as well.
The colors for this shower theme will vary. Typical tea party colors are very feminine. Some great color combos are...
- Pale green and pink
- Lavender and yellow
- Robin's egg blue and pink
- Light pink and light yellow
- Sage green and cream
The decorations for this party are very elegant. I'm not sure this is the theme for streamers and balloons. Use cream tablecloths. If you want to go for the more vintage look, layer lace tablecloths over
the cream ones.
For your centerpiece, use a beautiful vase filled with fragrant fresh Roses. Scatter some rose petals on the table as well.
Candles are a nice touch at tea parties. You can also use vintage items like, purses, gloves, and hats to liven up the tables.
Layer on the pearls and rose garlands. Use them anywhere and everywhere.
For your plates you'll probably want to use rose china. If you really don't want all those dishes you can use rose paper plates.
Tea Party Baby Shower Games and Activities
Most of the time you don't have a lot of games at a tea party. It's a more formal affair. You could have your guests come dressed up in their finest attire. Hats, gloves, the fancy dresses. Give prizes to the best dressed.
If it's a more casual tea party, then you can do a few
written games. Those are always a big hit. Here are some baby shower favorites...
Name Game
Give each guest a piece of paper. Have them write down the name of the Mommy and Daddy at the top. See how many baby names can be found just using the
letters of the parent's names. You can keep it to first names or make it a little bit easier and include the last name as well.
The Many Hats of Parenting
Juggler, Chauffeur and Negotiator are only a few of the different professional hats you wear as parents! Here's that unique Baby Shower game you've been looking for. The "experienced" parents will especially enjoy the humor of matching the many jobs you perform as parents to the word clues.
Tea Party Baby Shower Cake Ideas
Here's an idea for a gorgeous tea party cake. Bake any flavor of cake. Frost with white frosting. Dip Roses in
egg white and then in sugar. Layer on top of cake with the leaves as well. This is so elegant and beautiful.
You could also do cupcakes the same way. Use roses that match your color scheme. Place your cake or cupcakes on a pedestal cake plate. Place
a paper doily on the cake plate before you place the cake or cupcakes on it.
If you're really good at cake designs, you could also make a tea pot cake. Use fondant for the outside and the spout.
