Polka Dots Personalized Baby Diaper Cake

Diaper cakes are great baby shower centerpiece ideas. It looks fantastic on the table and can be given to the Mommy after the shower.

Your color scheme for this shower theme can really be any color or colors that the Mom to be loves. I've shown some great supplies that come in the traditional pink and blue that have cute little dots all over them.

You can also do a very colorful color scheme and use the supplies that I show further on in this page. They are bright and really fun.

You'll want to bring in your theme as much as possible. Cut out polka dots from sturdy paper and tape on the walls, ceiling, and anywhere else you can think of. Remember to keep with whatever color scheme you have decided on.

If you want a little more dimension to your dots, use Styrofoam balls cut in half. Spray paint them and secure them to the walls.

Cut out round circles and hang them from the ceiling with fishing wire.

For your baby shower centerpieces you can do anything that has polka dots on them. For a really fun centerpiece idea, paint a large flower pot in a solid color. Then add dots in your color scheme. Place florist foam down in the pot.

If you are going with the bright colored dots, then pick large funky bright colored silk flowers and place them in the foam. Purchase long skewers. Cut out dots from scrapbook paper and glue onto the ends of the skewers back to back. Add these to your pot.

Glue gift basket shred onto the top of the foam to hide it. Make a large bow with polka dot ribbon and secure a florist pick onto it. Place it in the front of the pot. To bring in the baby theme, tie a plastic pacifier onto the ribbon before tying into a bow. This is a whimsical way to bring in the polka dots.

Polka Dot Baby Shower Games

Cotton Ball Scoop

You'll need 2 large bowls, a large spoon, and colored cotton balls (polka dots).

Fill one bowl with cotton balls. Place the empty bowl on the player's head. Blind fold her. Place the bowl filled with cotton balls in her lap. Give the player the large spoon and have her ladle the cotton balls from the bowl in her lap to the bowl on her head (you'll need to hold the bowl on her head). See how many she can get in a time limit. This is really hilarious, as the players usually don't pick anything up, yet they are so careful.

Candy in a Baby Bottle

You'll need a large plastic bottle and pink or blue round candies for this baby shower game. Fill the bottle with the candies. Let everyone guess how many candies are in the bottle.

Who's That Cute Baby?

Get baby pictures of all the guests before the shower. Place them in pretty polka dot picture frames, number them, and place around the shower area. Or you can cut the pictures in a circle and glue onto large colored polka dots. Place on the walls around the party area. Have the guests guess who is who.

Printable Baby Shower Games

Printable games make the shower planning a breeze. You can get games like Baby Shower Bingo, Mad Libs, Word Scramble, Name That Baby, and many more. Makes life just a little bit easier! Print instantly.

Polka Dot Baby Shower Cake Ideas

Cake ideas for this fun theme are oh so easy! Just bake your favorite cake and add polka dots to it. You can cut out fondant circles or just use icing in fun colors.

If you decide to do cupcakes, just add round candies for your dots. Display your cupcakes on a gorgeous cupcake holder.

Polka Dot Baby Shower Food And Drink Ideas

Food and drinks for this shower theme should be fun. You don't want to get too serious with this theme.

  • Hot glue a large round bead onto the end of a skewer. Add fun foods to the skewer like lunch meat, cheese, small tomatoes, olives, fruit, ect.

  • Make sandwiches or cookies and cut them into circles.

  • Dip Oreo cookies in white chocolate that you have tinted to match the shower color scheme.

  • Shake pretty dot sprinkles onto colorful ice cream. Serve in pretty polka dot bowls.

  • Round cheese balls are a great way to bring in the dot theme.

  • Small round pepperoni pizzas

  • Fill clear containers with all kinds of round candies. Stick large lollipops in the candy for a festive touch.

For your drinks, make a fun colored punch and serve in polka dot glasses. Add more fun by adding fruit on a skewer with a large bead hot glued on the end. Place in the glass and then add your punch or fruit drink.
