Nursery Rhymes Shower

A Nursery Rhymes Shower is perfect for a boy or a girl. If you're not sure of the sex, this theme would be great.

There are two ways you can do the Nursery Rhyme Theme. You can do a lot of them or pick just one.

Here's a list to get you started.

  • All Around the Mulberry Bush
  • The Ants Go Marching
  • Baa Baa Black Sheep
  • Georgie Porgie
  • Goosey, Goosey Gander
  • Hey Diddle Diddle
  • Humpty Dumpty
  • Hush Little Baby
  • I See the Moon
  • It's Raining, It's Pouring
  • Jack and Jill
  • Jack Be Nimble
  • Ladybug, Ladybug
  • Little Bo Peep
  • Little Miss Muffet
  • London Bridge
  • Mary Had a Little Lamb
  • Pat-a-Cake, Pat-a-Cake
  • Peter Piper
  • Rub a Dub Dub
  • This Little Piggy
  • Twinkle Twinkle
  • Wee Willie Winkie
  • What Are Little Boys Made Of
  • What Are Little Girls Made Of

Of course this isn't all the rhymes. There are plenty more.

Nursery Rhymes Shower Invitation Ideas

Your invitations are a really important part of the shower. You'll want them to match your shower theme.

The first thing you need to decide is if you're going to use one rhyme or more than one.

Design your invitation accordingly. Here are a few examples.

  • For more than one rhyme, use Mother Goose on the front of your invite.
  • For Twinkle Twinkle, use a star.
  • For Rub a Dub Dub use a bathtub with bubbles.
  • For Little Miss Muffet you could use a spider.

Do you see what I mean?

Nursery Rhymes Shower Decoration Ideas

Your colors for this party will vary. It all depends on which rhyme you are going with. Look at pictures of the story. Then pick 3 coordinating colors from that.

That's your starting point. If you're going with more than one rhyme, decorate each table with a different rhyme. It can be one of the games to have the ladies guess which rhyme the tables represent.

Again, look at the story in a book and try to replicate that. For example, on one of the tables place a cute little foot stool with a large spider sitting on it (Miss Muffet).

Or little black lambs (Baa Baa Black Sheep). Or a small cradle with a baby in it with a sign that says SHHHH (Hush Little Baby).

Use your imagination to come up with really crazy and funny table centerpieces. It will be the hit of the party.

Balloons are always a great at any shower. They fill up space for very little money.

Mother Goose books would be a great way to add to this shower theme. Set them up here and there, and when the shower is over, you can give them to the Mother as a gift.

This Mother Goose 7 Piece Gift Set with Plush Nursery-Rhyme Buddies and Books would be a perfect centerpiece for your main table. It's adorable. And what an awesome gift for the baby on the way.

Wire Cupcake Holder Stand

Here are a few ideas.

Bake a two tiered cake and purchase a Mother Goose figurine to place on top. This is perfect if you have chosen more than one rhyme.

If you choose just one rhyme, then make sure your cake reflects that rhyme.

Twinkle Twinkle Little Star could be represented with the Star Cake Pan .

Nursery Rhymes Shower Food Ideas

Finger foods are best at baby showers. Small items on toothpicks are great. Some great combos are...

  • Organic turkey lunch meat, organic jack cheese, and an olive.
  • Organic ham, organic cheddar cheese, pineapple chunk.
  • Cherry tomato, mozzarella cheese, and fresh basil.

You really don't need a lot of drinks at your shower. Just a few will do. Here's some of my favorite choices...

  • Pink Lemonade (put fresh lemonade in blender with a few strawberries)
  • Cold Raspberry Tea (add fresh raspberries)
  • Cold Peach Tea

Nursery Rhymes Shower Favor Ideas

Go along with the rhyme you have chosen. Use little gift bags and fill with things to match your rhyme.

Use stickers to decorate the outside of your little bags. Tie a pretty ribbon on the handle.

You could also give a pretty candle that matches your theme. Place in tulle and tie with a ribbon. Add a charm that matches your rhyme.

For Hey Diddle Diddle, here's a perfect choice...
