Bumble Bee Baby Shower Invitations
There are plenty of ways to do baby shower invitations. You can print them yourself on the computer, buy ready made, or order custom cards. If you're the creative sort, you can make your own.
Homemade cards are becoming really popular. And it's a great way to save money. Be careful though, it can sometimes be more expensive to make your own baby shower invitations. Here's an easy bee invite. Click on the link below for full instructions.
Bumble Bee Baby Shower Decorations and Centerpiece Ideas
Your colors for this baby shower will depend on if it's for a boy or a girl. For a boy, go with yellow, black, green, and blue. For a girl, go with yellow, black, pink, and green.
Create a garden feel for this shower theme. You should incorporate flowers and flower pots and then add in your bumble bees as accents.
Think about what a garden would feel like and recreate that with fake trees, plants, garden statues, flowers, fountains, ect. Buy all sizes of bees and hot glue or wire them to the plants and flowers.
Hang large bees from the ceiling with fishing wire.
There are plenty of ideas for bumble bee baby shower centerpieces. The first idea is a bumble bee diaper cake. You can make your own and add bumble bee baby stuff.
Another idea is a cookie bouquet. Make flower and bee cookies. When they are still warm, place a round white lollipop stick in the cookies. Cool the cookies and then frost them. Purchase terracotta pots. Paint them to match your shower color scheme. Place florist foam in the pot. Add your cookies and bees. Cover the foam in the pot with moss or green gift basket shred.
A simple idea is to buy bee balloons and tie them onto stuffed bees. Sit on the table for a simple centerpiece.
Flowers would be nice for this party as well. Add a bow in your colors and hot glue a bee here and there. Scatter bees on the table as well. Lay a Buzzy Bee Wand beside the vase of flowers, or place it in the vase with the flower.
Bumble Bee Baby Shower Games
Cotton Ball And Bee Scoop
You'll need 2 large bowls, a large spoon, small fuzzy bees, and cotton balls.
Fill one bowl with cotton balls and fuzzy bees. Place the empty bowl on the player's head. Blind fold her. Place the bowl filled with cotton balls in her lap. Give the player the large spoon and have her ladle the cotton balls from the bowl in her lap to the bowl on her head (you'll need to hold the bowl on her head). See how many she can get in a time limit. This is really hilarious, as the players usually don't pick anything up, yet they are so careful.
Bean Bag Tic-Tac-Toe
Make a large tic-tac-toe board and use Bean Bag Bear Bees to toss onto the board.
Burt's Bees Baby Memory Tray
Before the shower, prepare a tray with Burt's Bees baby items on it. Lotions, shampoo, ect. At the start of the shower, show everyone the tray. Take the tray away and don't mention it for a while. Later on in the shower, give everyone a piece of paper and a pencil. The players must write down as many items as they can remember. The player with the most right answers, wins.
Printable games make the shower planning a breeze. You can get games like Baby Shower Bingo, Mad Libs, Word Scramble, Name That Baby, and many more. Makes life just a little bit easier! Print instantly.
Bumble Bee Baby Shower Cakes
You'll want your cake to be a bumble bee shape. You could also do a flower cake with a small bumble bee on one on the petals.
Bumble bee cupcakes would be nice too. I saw a really cute idea for bee cupcakes. They tinted the frosting to be yellow (swirl like a bee hive) and added chocolate covered raisins with white chocolate stripes for the bees. Add two slices of almonds on each side of the bees for the wings. These are really elegant and looked really easy.
Bumble Bee Baby Shower Food and Drinks
For the bee shower food and drinks, you can go with the black and yellow theme, or just serve regular food and add bees and flowers scattered on the table to bring in the theme.
For some bee and honey related party food, see my suggestions below.
- Honey buns
- Flower shaped honey and almond butter sandwiches
- Chicken salad sandwiches with honey mustard
- Biscuits with fresh butter and honey
- Yellow jello
- Vanilla and chocolate pudding layered (to look like bee stripes)
- Fresh lemonade with honey
- Tea with honey
Bumble Bee Baby Shower Favors
You might have to get a little creative for favors for this Mommy To Bee shower theme. A really cute idea is to just go with the bumble bee colors. Black and yellow. Start with Black Square Favor Boxes and add a bright yellow ribbon. If you are adding another color to your bumble bee color scheme, then hot glue a tiny flower in that color to the top of the box. Purchase little bees from a craft store and hot glue the bee onto the flower. How cute is that!
Another really sweet idea is to give Burt's Bee skin care products. I love the lip gloss!
I also found these adorable Sweet As Can Be Honey Pots that work perfect for this shower theme. You won't have to do a thing, they are cute as can bee (a little pun there) just like they are.
