Baby Shower Games

Baby Shower games are great fun. You really don't need a lot of them. Maybe 3 or 4 per shower. You'll want to have plenty to keep the party going.

You need to really take into account your guest list when you are coming up with your games. Age groups and other factors will determine what kind of games you play.

There are active baby shower games and baby shower word games. If you have a group that is more quite, then don't make them do crazy stuff. But if you have a crew of fun loving gals, feel free to play more adventurous games.

You will want to consult with the Mom as well. She may have a favorite that she wants to play.

Active Baby Shower Games

Cotton Ball Scoop

You'll need 2 large bowls, a large spoon, and cotton balls.

Fill one bowl with cotton balls. Place the empty bowl on the player's head. Blind fold her. Place the bowl filled with cotton balls in her lap. Give the player the large spoon and have her ladle the cotton balls from the bowl in her lap to the bowl on her head (you'll need to hold the bowl on her head). See how many she can get in a time limit. This is really hilarious, as the players usually don't pick anything up, yet they are so careful.

Mommy the Multi-Tasker

You'll need clothes line, laundry basket with baby clothes, phone, baby doll, and clothes pins.

Hang the clothes line up in the party area. You can hang baby clothes from it for your decorations and then it will be ready for the game. The player has 1 minute. She has to talk on the phone and hang up clothes while holding a baby on her hip. This is a great game. The single girls don't have a clue. See who can hang up the most clothes in the time limit.

Baby Bottle Sucking Game

You'll need baby bottles for everyone.

Fill the bottles about half full with a liquid. Pop, juice, milk, water, or anything else. Don't fill them more than that. It really is quite hard. See who can empty her bottle first. Or him. This is so fun to see guys playing. Maybe if you fill the bottles with something a little stronger than pop, they'll be more apt to play. For some extra fun, you can heat the nipple up so that it closes up. No matter how hard the player sucks, they will not be able to get any out!

Dress the Baby

For this baby shower game, you'll need baby dolls, baby clothes, baby shoes, baby hats, baby coats, diapers, and onesies.

Split the players into teams of 2 or 3. Give each team a doll and the same amount of clothes and baby items. Have a race to see which team can get the baby dressed the fastest. Then see who can get the baby undressed the fastest. Give prizes to the fastest team.

Baby Bottle Ring Toss

Items you'll need are about 15 bottles, rings big enough to go around the bottles, and something to put in the bottles to make them heavy. Candy would work.

Set up the bottles and make a line far enough away to make the game challenging. Have the players toss the rings. The winner is the one who rings the most bottles.

Baby Safety Pins

You'll need a bowl, safety pins, and rice.

Fill a bowl with rice and small safety pins. Blind fold the player for this baby shower game and have her pick out as many safety pins as she can with in a time period. It is harder than it sounds.

Place the Pacifier in the Baby's Mouth

For this baby shower game you'll need a poster size baby face, blind folds, and pacifier stickers.

Blind fold the player and twirl her around. Give her the pacifier sticker and see how close she can get to the baby's mouth. The closest pacifier to the baby's mouth wins the prize!

Baby Memory Tray

Before the shower, prepare a tray with baby items on it. Items like...diaper, shoes, powder, clippers, bottle, rattle, pacifier, ect. At the start of the shower, show everyone the tray. Take the tray away and don't mention it for a while. Later on in the shower, give everyone a piece of paper and a pencil. The players must write down as many items as they can remember. The player with the most right answers, wins.

Draw Baby Face

Give each player a paper plate and a marker. The players must put the paper plate on their heads and draw a baby face. Instruct them to write their names on the back and let the Mom-to-be decide who is the winner.

Don't Say "Baby"

String plastic pacifiers (can be found at a craft or hobby store) on a long piece of matching ribbon. As each guest comes in the shower, hang a pacifier around her neck and instruct her that she can't say the word "baby". If she does, someone can "steal" her pacifier. Keep this game going the whole shower. The player with the most pacifiers at the end of the shower, wins.

Baby Shower Guessing Games

Bag of Baby Items

Prior to the shower, place baby items in a bag. The players get to feel in the bag for about 15 to 20 seconds. Then everyone writes what they think is in the bag. The most correct answers gets the prize.

Baby Powder Guessing Game

For this baby shower game you need to prepare a tray of white items in bowls. Flour, baking powder, baking soda, baby powder, sugar, pancake mix, powdered formula, detergent, ect. Number each item. The players must guess what each item is and write it down. You can decide whether you want them to touch or smell the items. The player who guesses the most correct answers, wins.

Candy in a Baby Bottle

You'll need a large plastic bottle and pink or blue candies for this baby shower game. Fill the bottle with the candies. Let everyone guess how many candies are in the bottle.

Guess Mom's Size

Measure Mom's belly before the shower. Have everyone guess the circumference of her belly. The closest guess wins.

Who's That Cute Baby?

Get baby pictures of all the guests before the shower. Place them in pretty picture frames, number them, and place around the shower area. One of the games can be guessing who is who.

Celebrity Baby's

Make a large poster board with pictures of celebrity babies on it. Number the pictures. The players guess who the babies are.

Is That Poo?

Okay, I will admit that this baby shower game is a little gross. But since it is very popular, I thought I would add it in. Before the shower begins you'll need to prepare for this game. Take 5 diapers and place 5 different chocolate candy bars in them (Milky Way, Butterfinger, Snickers, Hershey, Babe Ruth, ect). Melt them slightly. Have the guests guess what candy each one is. It's quite funny to see everyone sniffing "dirty" diapers.

Baby Food Guessing Game

For this baby shower game, peel the labels off of baby food jars and label them with numbers. Have the guests taste each food and write down what they think each food is. The most correct answers is the winner.
